"Shelby Miguel shines as a comedic force whilst playing Rosie Imelda, a scientist with lots of facts at her disposal. Her facial expressions bring forth lots of laughs."
- Erika Brown Thomas, Chicagoland Musical Theatre
"The beats were so clean and the comedy was on point. Lucas as Bigfoot was so incredibly endearing and Shelby as Joanne was absolutely hilarious. Their relationship was magnetic and believable."
- Renee Wylder, co-owner of Wisteria Theater Company and certified Hollywood Fringe Festival reviewer.
“Miguel does the splits and sizzles as the unapologetic rocker Linda, who is in and out of Robbie’s life, making one last uninhibited plea, commanding everyone’s undivided attention, in the near show-stealer “Let Me Come Home.”
- Imaan Jalali, LA Excites
“Shelby Miguel belts out big time as ‘skanky whore’ Linda (Grandma’s words, not mine).”
- Steven Stanley, StageSceneLA
The goal for this show was to highlight women of color in the entertainment industry, so I am honored to have shared the stage with Sidne Phillips, Parissa Koo, Hadiyyah Noelle, Tara Alise Cox, and Leah Raquel Drew. These ladies are not only goddesses of the stage BUT ALSO social justice warriors. Through our show’s ticket sales, we raised $2,118 for the American Civil Liberties Union (the ACLU) to combat the Trump administration and their ridiculously oppressive policies, and ACLU SoCal was also present to sign up monthly donors, aka Guardians of Liberty (so badass). There’s still so much work to do in our country and in our industry, so let’s make Great American Bitches a regular occurrence???
Two of my best friends, Laila Drew and Ashley Diane, and I launched our podcast on Spotify! Stay tuned for new episodes of Ethnic SLAte. We talk about ethnic things!
